Chapter II — Armaments in the 1930s–40s.

During the 1930s and the Second World War, Ruhrstahl AG became involved in German armaments production. Its industrial facilities manufactured heavy steel components, artillery equipment and other products for military use.

The wartime history of Ruhrstahl must be viewed in its complete historical context. German heavy industry was incorporated into the war economy, and forced labour was used at industrial locations. This history should be documented accurately and responsibly, without romanticising the war or overlooking the human suffering connected with it.
